Last Day of PostPlanning
You have a problem when you need so much help organizing your organizing. I think a lot about just going back to a paper planner and forgetting about the Palm. I don't ever see it happening though. I do think I need to move to paper for recording and then transfer to the Palm. I wonder if I have a steno pad here at the house anywhere?

This is a great session. I need to investigate all of their links.
Wordle is not filtered, so it is more of a teacher tool.
One school has the kids copy/paste their writing into Wordle to see how often they use the same words in their passages.
Use surveys to select book awards.
Set up book discussion around Twilight.

How to Get Middle School Boys, At-risk Students and Exceptional Education Students Interested in Reading.
Allyson Richardson/ Indian Creek Middle School. This presentation will
cover strategies that will help you reach adolescents who typically don’t like to read. The ideas
presented will be of immediate use once you return to your school or library.
She seems very unprepared. Special Ed teacher. She really doesn't have anything to say that is worthwhile. She uses AR, but I don't think she said anything new.
Idea - Millionaire's Club = Million Words - Number can be found in AR

Children's Literature Conference 2009
Dianne and I just arrived in Athens for the conference. The room is great and we ate way too much for lunch, so dinner is not happening.
I am going to show her blogger.com and Google Docs. She is wanting to use blogger for her presentation.

Splash ID
Error message: "You need to run SplashID version 2.59 to upgrade your old data; then you can run version 3.32."
Do not install version 2.59, it will cause you to lose your SplashID data. The error message appears when you install version 3.x over 4.x, which you generally should not do. Version 3.x is trying to find its data, but cannot open SplashID 4.x version's data, thus it shows this error message.
To get your SplashID data back:
1. Reinstall SplashID 4.x
2. HotSync after reinstalling and then run SplashID on the PDA, and see if it works fine this time and shows your data.
3. If it does show your data, and SplashID Desktop on the PC does not, change the SplashID conduit to "Handheld overwrites Desktop" for one sync, and HotSync again. This copies all SplashID data from the PDA to the PC.
4. Run SplashID Desktop 4.x and see if it shows your data from the PDA.
Note: If you don't have a SplashID 4.x registration code, you will need to upgrade for $10.

Property Taxes
spoke with Chase tax dept today - they had my bill, but for some reason did not pay it - he opened a work order to contact the tax office and get it paid - he said, if it was Chase's fault they would absorb the extra fees - I need to follow up at the end of the week
